Choose the T-3 when its matching attachments meet your plan at a lower complete cost. Choose X-3 for a specific 3×3 attachment plan. Both use a nominal 5/8-inch pin system with listed 11/16-inch holes. X-3 is not a 1-inch-pin TITAN Series rack, and X-3 Flat Foot is a different configuration from X-3 Bolt Down.
Comparisons are based on manufacturer specifications and published product information. US product information checked October 21, 2026. We have not conducted hands-on testing. Prices are dated equipment examples, before tax and any delivery or installation costs.
Compare equal-depth racks first
This comparison uses the current T-3 91-inch / 36-inch Black, no weight holders and X-3 Bolt Down 90-inch / 36-inch Black, no weight holders. Comparing a short, shallow T-3 with a tall, deeper X-3 hides the configuration premium inside the series premium.

| Configuration | Steel and usable bay | Published geometry | Checked price / what is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| T-3 91 / 36, SKU 401246 | 2×3 in, 11-gauge; 42 in inside width, 36 in inside depth. | 91 in high; 46 in outside upright width; 42 in outside depth; listed overall footprint 54 × 44.75 in. | Black/no holders $679.97; standard 1.25 in and 2 in pull-up bars and two J-hooks. Price safeties separately. |
| X-3 Bolt Down 90 / 36, SKU 401390 | 3×3 in, 11-gauge; 42 in inside width, 36 in inside depth. | 90 in high; 48 in outside upright width; 42 in outside depth; listed footprint 45 × 52.5 in. | Black/no holders $759.97; standard pull-up bars and two J-hooks. Price safeties separately. |
| X-3 Flat Foot, selected 82 in / no holders | 3×3 in, 11-gauge; 42 in inside width, 30 in inside depth. | 82 in high; listed footprint 50 × 48 in. A different base and working depth. | From $759.97 for the checked selected option. Do not apply bolt-down attachment fit automatically. |
Footprint warning: Titan lists overall footprint axes differently across these pages. Use the quoted footprint together with the separate outside-upright dimensions and base drawing; do not treat one printed number as proof that the X-3 is narrower. Bases and feet extend beyond the upright rectangle.
Check Titan T-3 Power Rack 91 36 401246Check Titan X-3 Bolt Down Power Rack 90 36 401390Pin size, hole size and attachment compatibility
The current product tables list 11/16 in holes; the matching safety set lists 16 mm / 5/8 in pins. The hole provides clearance around the pin. These are not conflicting claims or a third attachment family. Both current bolt-down pages describe 1-inch Westside spacing through the bench/clean zone, 2-inch spacing elsewhere and 6-inch side spacing.
A T-3 bracket wraps a rectangular upright; an X-3 bracket wraps a square one. A shared pin size does not make a lever arm, J-cup or wraparound accessory interchangeable. Check tube dimensions, bracket lining, hole centers, pin length, mounting face, rack generation and crossmember width. The general 2×3 vs 3×3 guide explains the interface; this page owns the exact Titan configurations.
Titan’s rack-attachment lat tower explicitly fits T-3/X-3 bolt-down racks and excludes flat-foot models. The stabilizer-foot accessory also excludes current X-3 Flat Foot. Price your exact attachment list before choosing a base.
Complete setup cost: an equal-basket example

| Basket, before tax/delivery/installation | T-3 91 / 36 | X-3 Bolt Down 90 / 36 |
|---|---|---|
| Black rack, no plate holders | $679.97 | $759.97 |
| Matching 36 in pin-and-pipe safety pair, SKU 401213 | $75.97 | $75.97 |
| Rack + this safety pair subtotal | $755.94 | $835.94 |
| Optional matching adjustable lever-arm pair | $284.97 T-3 | $314.97 X-3 |
| Rack + safety pair + matching arms subtotal | $1,040.91 | $1,150.91 |
Add your bar, bench, plates, collars, floor protection, appropriate floor anchoring, installation labor/tools, tax and any delivery charge. The safety pair’s stated 650 lb rackable rating is a separate component claim; the rack’s larger capacity does not increase it. Confirm this safety style and catch height suit your lifts.
Check Titan T-3 X-3 Pin Pipe Safety 36 401213Bolting down and lever-arm clearance
Both compared bolt-down rack pages recommend floor anchoring. More specifically, Titan recommends using lever arms only with a bolted-down rack. Stored plates or optional feet are not automatically an approved substitute for that lever-arm requirement. Check the substrate and anchoring instructions before ordering.
The Titan lever-arm compatibility guide compares T-3, X-3 and TITAN arm sets and the additional leg-press parts. Mark the full forward swing, plate loading access and your body position, then ensure the barbell area remains usable.
Decision
Buy T-3 if its complete accessory basket does the job and you value the $80 rack-plus-safeties saving in this matched example. Buy X-3 Bolt Down if a supported X-3 attachment or square-upright layout justifies the cost. Consider Flat Foot separately when its base solves your installation problem, after checking every intended attachment. Do not choose from the 1,100 versus 1,650 lb rackable claims alone; those are not matched drop tests.
For ceiling and loading space, use the rack depth guide and bar/rack fit checks before choosing height and depth.
