Quick answer: Choose Titan’s Skinny Grip if you want a 28mm handle; choose its Fat Grip only if the 50mm grip is part of the training goal. They also differ in spacing and attachment weight. Both fit a 50mm installation diameter with a 5-in receiver. You still need a suitable bar, secured landmine base and a manageable starting position.

A Viking press landmine attachment changes the grip at the moving end of a bar. It is not the pivoting landmine base and it is not a freestanding press machine. Buying the handle alone does not create a complete pressing station.

The older Titan “neutral-grip…v2” and “skinny-neutral-grip…” URLs now redirect to Fat Grip and Skinny Grip pages respectively. The current comparison uses those final model names. An old review or retailer title is not sufficient to identify the selected grip.

Grip geometry: more than thin versus thick

The Fat Grip is 22mm thicker than the Skinny Grip and has different inner and outer spacing. Choosing it changes both hand opening and the starting relationship between your arms and the bar. The heavier 17-lb attachment also adds five pounds at the moving end compared with the Skinny Grip before plates are loaded.

Black Widow’s 1.3-in grip is approximately 33mm, between the two Titan diameters. Its quoted spacing and head opening are useful comparison points; they do not establish that it will feel better or clear every user’s head at every bar angle.

Fit and loading: check these together

  1. Bar sleeve: verify outside diameter and enough clear receiver length. Do not force the receiver onto a different shaft diameter.
  2. Plate stack: allow for plates, receiver engagement, the retention mechanism and any collar called for by the exact setup.
  3. Stop pin or bolt: use the supplied retention system as instructed. A threaded stop is not permission to replace a missing component with improvised hardware.
  4. Base: confirm the landmine pivot, rack or floor support and anchoring instructions. The attachment’s 680-lb manufacturer rating is not the complete station’s allowable load.
  5. Arc: check the entire bar and plate path, not just where you stand.

The starting-position problem

Before adding plates, rehearse picking up the empty assembly, bringing it to the pressing start and returning it under control. A handle at floor level may require a difficult lift into position even when the eventual pressing load is manageable.

A compatible purpose-built landmine stand can provide a raised start, but its height, cradle fit, stability and load rules need separate verification. Do not balance a loaded handle on a loose bench, chair or stacked blocks. Standing on a platform changes the relationship between your body and the pivot; it is not a substitute for solving a poor starting setup.

Budget for the complete station

If you already own a compatible bar, plates and secured pivot, the handle may be the only incremental item. Starting from scratch means adding the bar, landmine base, any rack mounting or anchoring hardware, loading hardware and an appropriate start support if required. Include shipping, tax and the merchant’s lead time.

Confirm current US seller and offer availability. The product identifier corresponds to the 28mm Skinny Grip; do not assume a title saying “neutral” identifies the same variant.

Where this fits in your landmine setup

Read the landmine base comparison and floor-planning sketch for pivot and rack compatibility, and landmine exercise setup before expanding your handle collection. This page owns the Viking-handle decision; the base guide owns the landmine mounting decision.

There is no hands-on shoulder-comfort comparison here. Claims that a handle prevents injury or guarantees less joint stress are not established by the geometry table.
