Best Reverse Hyper Machines: Fit, Plate Space & Complete Cost

Actual Titan H-PND reverse hyper machine in use in a gym; manufacturer photograph

The best reverse hyper machine depends on whether you need folding storage, more plate space or a permanent adjustable station. Choose the Westside Scout for folding storage within its load limits, the Titan H-PND for a fixed frame with 10-inch sleeves, or the Rogue Z Hyper for longer sleeves and adjustable handle reach. Your existing plates and available training space can change the winner.

Comparisons are based on manufacturer specifications and published product information. US specifications and prices checked October 20, 2026. As an Amazon Associate, WOD Fever earns from qualifying purchases. We may also earn from REP links.

Three reverse hyper machines, three useful choices

Machine Best reason to choose it Main tradeoff Published specifications
Westside Scout Hyper Manufacturer: Rogue Scout specifications Fold it between sessions Short sleeves and a lower added-load limit 5.25-inch loadable posts; 176 lb swing-arm limit; 300 lb user limit. Current unloaded weight: 94.5 lb.
Titan Fitness H-PND A dedicated fixed frame with longer plate space 250 lb machine to accommodate and move 10-inch sleeves; 700 lb added-load limit; 400 lb user limit. Eight handle positions in 2-inch increments.
Rogue Z Hyper Manufacturer: Rogue Z Hyper specifications · Z Hyper assembly instructions Long sleeves and adjustable handle reach A permanent 323 lb station and higher starting price 10.5-inch sleeves; Rogue describes capacity exceeding 700 lb of steel plates. Handles extend 2–14 inches from the pad edge.

Pick the Scout when storage is the binding constraint. Check that your intended plate stack fits its posts before assuming the 176 lb limit is reachable with your plates. Pick the Titan when you want a fixed-frame station and its dimensions fit. The verified Amazon listing was sold and shipped by TitanBrands. Pick the Z Hyper when its extra reach adjustment or plate space solves a specific fit problem. Its bolt-together construction helps assembly and disassembly; it is not a folding design.

Measure the machine, then the movement around it

Model Published frame / feet dimensions What to measure separately
Scout 60 × 27.5 inches at the feet unfolded; 32 inches wide including pop pins. Pad top: 46.5 inches. Folded total depth: 13 inches. Room to fold, lift and store the 94.5 lb machine; access to its locking pins
Titan H-PND 52.25 inches deep × 41 wide × 44.5 high Plate-loading access, entry step, leg/plate travel and route into the room
Z Hyper 51.5 × 43-inch footprint; 45-inch height Selected handle extension, loading access, leg travel and assembly location

The Scout’s 8-inch folded dimension refers to its feet; 13 inches is the stated total folded depth. Likewise, its 38-inch depth including arms is not a substitute for the 60-inch unfolded dimension at the feet. Keep those measurement definitions separate when planning storage.

Before ordering, mark out the machine’s full dimensions on the floor. Then check the intended movement, entry, exit and plate-loading access. A nearby wall, stored barbell or car can obstruct the exercise even when the feet fit. None of the listed frame dimensions establishes a universal safe distance from an obstacle.

Will your plates fit on the sleeves?

Measure plate thickness at the hub and leave room for the collar to secure fully. Plate weight alone cannot tell you how many fit. A thick bumper stack can fill a short sleeve well before the machine’s added-load limit.

Plate-fit calculator

For equal plates on both sides. The starting values are an illustrative example, not specifications for the plates in the photo. Enter your own measurements.

Example: 2.5-inch plates, 1-inch collar allowance and 45 lb per plate.

Sleeve length Estimated plates per side Added plates, both sides Stated added-load limit / assessment
Scout: 5.25 inches 1 90 lb 176 lb limit; example 90 lb is below the cap. Actual fit and user limits remain separate.
Titan: 10 inches 3 270 lb 700 lb limit; example 270 lb is below the cap. Actual fit and user limits remain separate.
Z Hyper: 10.5 inches 3 270 lb Exact upper limit unverified. Rogue describes over 700 lb of steel plates; confirm the selected setup.

Calculation: round down (sleeve length − collar allowance) ÷ plate thickness; multiply by two sides and plate weight. This estimates sleeve space only. It does not approve that load: apply the separate machine limits, plate compatibility and actual collar engagement. For mixed plates, add the individual thicknesses instead.

Complete usable cost: include the plates you still need

All three machines include a hyper strap and collars. Their machine prices do not include training plates. Reuse suitable plates if you already own them; do not buy another pair simply to complete a basket.

Basket Dated subtotal before delivery and tax When the extra earns its cost
Scout with included strap and collars $415 machine. Optional handle extension: $20.
$415 + $20 = $435 with extension.
Choose the extension only if the standard reach does not suit you.
Titan H-PND on Amazon Current selected offer + any missing suitable plates + delivery + tax Featured price was gated behind a cart prompt. We did not substitute another offer or Titan’s direct-store price.
Z Hyper with included strap and collars $965 machine. Optional base crossmember $50; roller attachment $300.
$965 + $50 + $300 = $1,315 with both.
Crossmember for the maker’s band setup; roller for that alternative connection. Neither is required for the included strap configuration.

Example when you need 90 lb of plates: the REP Old School 45 lb plate pair was $169.98 and marked available. That makes a Scout with its standard handles $415 + $169.98 = $584.98, or a standard strap-equipped Z Hyper $965 + $169.98 = $1,134.98, before delivery and tax. For the Titan, add $169.98 to the actual Amazon offer you select. Ninety pounds is a cost example, not a prescribed starting load; check plate and collar fit before buying.

Also confirm how the seller delivers the machine, whether assembly is included and how you will move the parts into position. Do not treat a freight delivery as an assembled machine placed inside your gym. Add any handling or assembly service you actually require to the quote.

Check fit and support before paying

Match the pad, step and handle reach to your body and the intended exercise. Trying the same model is more informative than assuming a pad height fits everyone. Scout’s current page states a two-year warranty; Titan states one year. Confirm applicable coverage, freight returns and parts support with the seller of the exact unit. Do not infer stability or durability from frame weight alone.

A reverse hyper supports the torso while the legs move. A standard back-extension bench or GHD is a different equipment decision; a GHD without a loaded pendulum is not an equivalent plate-loaded reverse hyper. We did not find a dedicated REP pendulum machine to recommend. The home CrossFit equipment guide helps prioritize the basic setup before a dedicated accessory machine.
